Wow! What an interesting
2009 it has been already with the challenging economy and freezing cold weather
throughout the country - even in the deep South! I'm a glass-half-full type of
person and like to look at the bright side....the uncertainty of the economy is
forcing people to value the things they have and has reinforced the desire to
spend quality time with family and friends, eating Sunday dinners at home vs.
going out. Furthermore, the recent freezing cold weather and snow in
Cleveland has forced us into hibernation...which to me, means spending quality
time with my family on the floor playing games, reading books and doing art
projects (and I can no longer avoid those nagging little projects like
organizing my closet or preparing our taxes). The only problem with
countless days of hibernation, means we quickly run out of games and art
projects to do together (and I can only read Bear Snores On so many
times before I want to curl up in a ball and snore myself), thus I am always
looking for new ideas for games and projects....
Conveniently, the Creativity for
Kids Product Development Team (the fun people who create all of our fun kits)
came up with the January Craft of the Month project. The cool thing about
this Craft of the Month is that, not only do you have the joy of creating
something together with your kids, you subsequently use it to play games during
your hibernation (further interacting with your family) AND you can recycle
common household items and save money to boot!
We hope you enjoy the project and
would love to hear your thoughts and feedback! Seriously, we really want
your feedback...so to help encourage participation in our Craft of the Month
Blog, we're giving away $100 worth of Creativity for Kids products!
Here's how you can win:

P.S. Stay tuned
for February's Craft of the Month and promotion (yep, we'll be giving away more
products!).
Gobble, Gobble, I can already smell the delicious turkey and yummy pumpkin pie fresh from the oven.I can't wait to eat that traditional meal but ... Thanksgiving is so much more than a great meal.
Thanksgiving is a perfect time for everyone to give thanks for all of our many blessings.
This "Thankful Turkey" will give each of your guests at your Thanksgiving dinner the opportunity to share what they are most thankful for this year.
As each guest arrives for your Thanksgiving meal, give them a feather that you have designed and have them write on the feather what they are most thankful for in their life. When they are finished, each feather is placed in the turkey for everyone to admire.
Your "Thankful Turkey" will be the best part of the meal and will be a great memory for years to come!
We'd love to hear how your Thanksgiving craft goes so send us a comment and fill us in. Also, when you are done adding feathers to your craft, take a picture of it and submit it to our gallery so that everyone can see it. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving from Creativity for Kids!
I love Halloween . . . What about you? My favorite part is adding a new creation to my Halloween display. That is why I created this cute, yet spooky mummy. It will be sure to draw attention from your family and friends. You can make it really creepy by making scary eyes and add some crawling insects or snakes. Your own creative touch will make it perfect. You can show us your creation by posting on the Creativity for Kids gallery. We would love to see it. This would be a great family project and I know you would have a howling good time!
I'd love to hear about some of your other great Halloween craft ideas too.
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for visiting our site and checking out our Craft of the Month. August's craft is designed to help kids to get ready for back-to-school. We've created some Crazy Critter desk accessories to keep desks organized and fun!
We'd love to hear your thoughts on the craft so feel free to post suggestions, comments and other ideas that you used when creating your monthly craft.
We post a new craft each month so be sure to check back for next month's fun and creative craft.
